A MODERN BROWSER. AN EXPLORER’S SPIRIT.

Meet Wayfarer.

A free, independently developed Chromium-based browser, shaped by the sense of discovery that made classic browsing memorable.

A modern foundation

Wayfarer is built on Chromium. Its name, visual identity, and product direction are independently developed by Hamelton Software.

Recognizable character

The design takes inspiration from classic Netscape Navigator: distinctive typography, colored toolbar icons, and a feeling of setting out somewhere new.

Windows first

Development begins with Windows. macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS editions are planned, with release details to be announced individually.

WHAT MAKES IT WAYFARER

Personality with a purpose.

Wayfarer’s compass-inspired symbol, custom wordmark, and toolbar icon system share one idea: the web is a place to navigate. The interface aims to make that identity useful as well as recognizable.

The roadmap explores ways to connect browsing history, research collections, and session management. Those ideas are proposed for future development.

DESIGNED FOR WAYFARER

Small details. A distinct identity.

Wayfarer’s custom toolbar icons bring the character of classic navigation to everyday browser controls. Colored, beveled navigation symbols sit alongside crisp utility icons, with versions for light and dark toolbars.

These 28 custom icons are intended for the Wayfarer browser. This is a design showcase; the icon set is not offered as a separate download. Displayed controls do not indicate that a feature has shipped.
